In this section, I will give you tips that should help you win unless something goes horribly wrong. In some case you will notice colors in the script. Races will appear in Blue, Heros will appear in Red, and Abilities will appear in Green. Here are some helpful tips to help you when playing a custom game in single player:
- Remember that the computer will attack early and often. Build up base defences quickly
- Get your best hero fast! The best hero for each race will vary for different people, but for me: Undead: Dreadlord; Orc: Blademaster; Human: Mountain King; Night Elves: Demon Hunter
- Remember if you are the Night Elves, get the Demon Hunter first as it is the most powerful melee hero that is great against other heros, what with it's Mana Burn attack. It can be known as a hero killer
- Build up a force of 4-7 of your races basic fighting unit. Then with your hero as well, go creep hunting. You want to get your hero levels up FAST!. The basic fighting unit for each race are as follows: Undead: Ghoul; Orc: Grunt; Human: Footman; Night Elves: Archer
- As soon as your hero reaches level 6, get it's ultimate spell right away. The heros ultimate spell is by far it's best ability. Each hero's ultimate spells are as followed: Undead: Dreadlord: Inferno-Summons an Infernal; Death Knight: Animate Dead-Revives 6 fallen units around the Death Knight; Lich: Death Coil-Damages all units and building in the area of effect, destroys trees. Orc: Blademaster: Bladestorm-A whirlwind against nearby ground units and makes spell immunity; Farseer: Earthquake-Guess what this does; Tauren Chieftan: Reincarnation-Revives the Tauren Chieftan. Human: Archmage: Mass-Teleport-Teleports the hero and nearby units to any friendly unit; Mountain King: Avatar-Turns the Mountain King into a giant improving his statistics; Paladin: Ressurection-Raises a handfull of friendly units. Night Elves: Demon Hunter: Metamorphasis-Transforms the Demon Hunter into a demon itself with a ranged attack and increased hit points and damage; Keeper of the Grove: Tranquillity-Rains down healing waters; Priestess of the Moon: Starfall-Send waves of stars around the priestess damaging enemy units only. If you kill all the creeps you can before your hero reaches lvl 6, well then chances are your opponent will attack you occasionally
- Once your hero is at lvl 6, (it doesnt have to be, it can be anywhere from level 5-10, but ) its time to begin preperations to attack. Your hero should be at least lvl 5 before your attack. You should build up a force of 12 of your stongest guys or more if you want including your hero/heroes. The best creature of each race (to me anyway) are as follows: Undead: Abominations; Orc: Tauren; Human: Knights combined with Mortor Teams; Night Elves: Archers combined with Ballistas. Be sure to back them up with air support if you want. Once you have your attack force ready, go in and blow the hell out of your enemy!
